Since 2011, Acumen has been providing Paratransit Coordination Services to support the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) Paratransit Program.
Brandywine Workshop and Archives is a diversity-driven, nonprofit cultural institution that produces and shares art to connect, inspire and build bridges among global communities. Acumen’s President and CEO Walter Allen is on the Board of Directors and has been an art aficionado for decades.
Acumen provided outreach services for the development of two Community-Based Transportation Plans by the Contra Costa Transportation Authority for Concord and Martinez in Northern California.
Acumen has partnered with the East Oakland Youth Development Center in support of its mission to develop the social and leadership capacities of youth, so that they achieve excellence in education, career and service to their communities.
Acumen served as an advisor and provided construction management services for various construction and remodeling projects at American Indian Model Schools in Oakland, CA.
Acumen strongly supports the East Bay Innovation Cluster coalition to create a knowledge-based economy grounded in life sciences, technology and smart city mobility innovation and discovery in the San Francisco East Bay.
President & CEO Walter E. Allen has collected artwork on his travels purchased directly from artists. When you visit Acumen, you’ll see art from various art movements and styles displayed throughout the home office in Oakland. Acumen continues to support art from around the world.
As a member of the Link21 team that is transforming Northern California’s passenger rail network into a faster, more integrated system, Acumen is one of several firms that raised funds over the holidays in 2021 for organizations that benefit our communities.
The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) is a national, multi-ethnic professional organization founded in 1971. For 15 years, Acumen’s President and CEO Walter Allen has been a COMTO member and active in both its Northern California and Southern California chapters.
